description: Wonderful Hardy Bros of Alnwick England wide drum MKII Perfect with Nickel silver circular revolving line guide, ribbed brass reel foot, curved line script and made by (JS) for James Smith (1908-1960). The reel is in "VG" condition Circa 1930's. Very nice patina and very honest ware mechanically correct with that spitfire look having most of the finish worn off over the years. I f reel could only talk I'll bet this one could tell some stories! Just a great standard for The Salmon/Steelhead fly fisherman. This is a proven reel that has been fished around the world for almost 100 years! What a nice find and it's waiting to be taken on your next trip to Russia or any number of destinations for Atlantic Salmon, Steelhead etc....!!!!
