description: Another very rare special rod. Built at the Carlson/Thomas shop. Extremely hard to locate the Thomas "FOUR" rods are very rare. As most of you know these Thomas "FOUR" models were built by the late great CW Sam Carlson. This rod also happens to be in "E" condition and has been fishing but is in 100% original condition with no issues! Just another stunning rod that Sam built early in his career in 1962! Sam only built a few hundred rods in his lifetime and only a handful under Thomas. Standard flamed cane, red wraps tipped in black, black ferrules, up locking screw reel seat with walnut spacer. Just another wonderful piece of fly fishing history from the Master of the Quad.
