description: Probably one of the finest dry fly rods you will find. Just a Stunning rod in all respects from the late great Sam Carlson. Sam only built a few hundred rods in his career. Standard flamed cane, red wraps with black tipping, dark wood reel seat with black sliding band and butt cap. Dana Gray (The New Carlson Rod Co Owner who was Sam’s apprentice) was kind enough to look up the history of this rod and a letter from Dana comes with the rod. If you don’t know Dana then you are missing out! What a complete Gentleman. He compiled the rods history over a two week period as he holds all the records to the Carlson Rod Co. This is truly a special rod in many ways as most are in my book.. This Carlson Four is numbered 003-4753 a 4/5wt 7ft 6in 3pc 2 tip the 3rd rod made in 2000 and from one of the last group of rods he built The rod itself has been very well taken care of and is in near “E” condition. Just a wonderful piece of fly fishing history.
