description: Stunning Rod from Ron Kusse in "E" Condition with fading to the butt cap and ring more of a patina look. This rod was made as a custom rod with mirror matched tips in 1997 and is rated as a light 2/3wt rod. I have test cast this rod and it work equally well with a 2 or 3 weight line. Simplicity is the theme in Ron's vision when he started making most of his rods and the feedback he got from Jim Payne in the 50's was a plus. Stunning rod with lightly flamed colored cane, wound with transparent silk wraps so fine the guide feet can be seen through the silk with light olive wraps tipped in red at the ferrules. Just Beautiful! Tapered cigar grip with fancy dark burl walnut wood spacer, swelled butt, black fittings, black guides, nickel-silver ferrules, Oxidized black nickel-silver sliding band reel seat and butt cap. Just a great Medium-Fast dry fly rods from the former owner of the H.L. Leonard Rod Co. 1979 to 1981 in what I feel was the best time period for function and style. Also this was the same time his good friend Tom Maxwell was in charge under Ron. These rods are now more than a 5 year wait. You can purchase this rod without the wait right now! In the last 2 years we are seeing less of his rods being sold in the secondary market for good reason they just keep going up in value and collector are holding on to them. The rod also packs down in a 29" tube! Great for travel.
