description: Great buy on a stunning early Payne rod made by Jim himself circa early 60's. Label is about 45% not in the best shape The rod is in "M" Mint Restored condition by the best Steve Blake! Perfect varnish as Steve brushes his varnish on just like Jim did. Also no issue with the rod, it's perfect! The rod has not been fished after the restoration was completed and has been stored in an controlled environment. The rods weight is 2-7/8ozs and is rated as a 4wt rod. If you collect Cane Rods this is a rod you will want to pick up. What can I say, just one of the all time great rod from the Man most say was the greatest rod builder ever and I have no problem with that statement!!! Great price on a wonderful rod!
